BIRT Database Example
Learn how to manipulate database records with BIRT.
Sometimes it would be great to allow report consumers to be able to make updates to records in the underlying data set.
For example a report might be part of a workflow system where the report consumer needs to be able to push selected records onto the next person in the workflow. Or perhaps a report on an accounting system may show the user a list of purchase invoices that are due for payment and allow the user to remove or adjust those records going into the payment run.
Since BIRT reports are deployed in a web browser it would also be possible to construct a full blown shopping cart with “buy now” buttons or a simple content management system that allows you to post articles to a web site and users to post comments.
